The purpose of this site is to provide a forum for people to talk about their experiences with, and to help them find alternatives to the all-pervasive Made-in-China label. To the extent that China supplies a preponderant portion of all goods sold on our planet, it is often no simple matter to track down equivalent products.

Let us make something clear from the outset: this is not and is not intended to be a racist site. The only fault with the Chinese, as far as we can tell, is that they are human, as are we all, and therefore try very hard to serve their self-interest, sometimes with unfortunate results. This holds equally true for the companies, run by humans, who have flocked to China to profit from extremely low wages and virtually no enforcement of whatever little environmental regulation there may be. And as these enterprises push for ever lower costs the inevitable corner cutting takes place resulting in the often shoddy and sometimes hazardous quality of many Chinese made products. These companies must share equally the odium of selling sub-standard goods.

This is a new site, meant to deal with an obvious marketplace problem: the huge difficulty in avoiding, for whatever reasons, made-in-China products. As a new site it will naturally not yet have very much content but, for such an important issue, and with your enthusiastic input, we expect it to very quickly fill up. Thanks for your help!
